Sabon Bryant Park

This year with the "green" theme I guess, Sabon at Bryant Park has also turned green. I met my old friend Mirit and she came to run the store from San Francisco.

Arrived Israel

Arrived in Israel. Waited almost an hour for the luggage. Avi sent his driver who drives a Mercedes to pick me up. Check-in the hotel and went dinner with Vered, her brother, his GF, and her friends. We went to Nana bar which is going to the Wedding place tomorrow. I already love this place !! I love Neve Nzedek!

一風堂

Finally get to go to Ippudo Ramen on 4th Avenue. Last time it was a 1.5 hour wait for dinner so we went for lunch today.  This place used to be a night club and now it's a popular ramen place from Japan. The ramen was good, too bad they didn't have gyoza.  : (

My Hebrew Aleph-bet Book

I am taking a Hebrew crash reading class at the JCC (Jewish Community Center) .  In the beginning was OK, by the 3rd lesson I am already confused with so many similar letters O_O

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

Went to see this movie called "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" pre-screening at the JCC yesterday. It's about a German boy named "Bruno" whose father is a Nazi top officer and the family was living well in Berlin. But the family moved to a new place because of the father's promotion and the house was very closed to the concentration camp. Bruno was bored at home and wanted to explore the area around and he got close to the fence of the camp and met this boy "Shumel" who was the same age was he was - 8. Originally Bruno thought everyone dressed in pajamas was a game and he was envy there are so many of them playing together and later he realized it's a camp. While his father/family/teacher are telling him bad things about Jews but he felt that Shumel was a good person and he was his friend. Bruno went to meet Shumel frequently and always brought him food. Bruno's mom was getting mentally upset with the environment close-by after she found out they are killing people and decided to move. Bruno went to meet Shumel for the last time and dressed in pajamas that Shumel got him so he can get in to help him find his dad. Unfortunately they got into a room that were called to the gas chamber...

It was such a powerful ending and I had no words after. During the whole movie, I felt that my hearts was squeezed. Although it was just a movie but in reality, worst has been happened in the concentration camp and I really can't imagine how harsh it was.

My favorite model Ebi-chan is graduating from CanCam magazine. She did a photoshoot in Sabon Japan store and I am happy that she visited the store. I heard that she bought the Tropic Body Scrub. 

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!  I went to see the parade for the first time. Since it was just 1 avenue away. The whole neighborhood is fully of characters and noisy until 2am now...

I love my new organic bag

I love my new Sabon organic bag.  I am using the pique bag as my cosmetics pouch. 

Empty bottles

I always keep my Sabon bottles even it's used up. Today I did a big clean-up and used some of the shower oil bottles for flowers. 

Taim

Taim (means "tasty" in Hebrew) is my recent favorite Israeli food place in West Village. The mixed falafel platter $10 has 3 types of falafels (regular, green, and red).

Clinton Bakery

I finally got a chance to go to Clinton Bakery, thanks to Megumi who lives close-by and went to get reservation early in the morning. This place is always packed of people waiting to get in and sometimes can be 2 hours wait.   This bakery was posted in Japanese magazine and reported in TV show. Megumi's friend Maiko (artist) came from Osaka and we had fun brunch. 

I love my new candles

Got some new candles from Sabon. I am loving them. Feels classy and relaxing.

Masa 雅

Went to Bar Masa at the Time Warner building. Masa is famous for its estimated $300 per person.
The Uni Amaebi roll was $38 but it was soooo good.

Walking around Soho

Just walking around Soho to look for some interesting street vendors. Somehow got into a long conversation with this guy who wrote about book called "Winners Guide to Dating " and talked about American guys and Japanese guys, this and that.

Also saw Wakamaru at Uniqlo. Wakamaru is a robot brought to NY from Japan. I was able to hold his hands and walked him.
